1. Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than one with all the facts.

2. You’re only as tall as your heart will let you be. And you’re only as small as the world will make you seem. And when the going gets rough and you feel like you may fall, just look on the bright side. You’re roughly six feet tall.

3. We have this idea that love is supposed to last forever. But love isn’t like that. It’s a free-flowing energy that comes and goes when it pleases. Sometimes, it stays for life; other times it stays for a second, a day, a month, or a year. So don’t fear love when it comes, simply because it makes you vulnerable. But don’t be surprised when it leaves either. Just be glad you had the opportunity to experience it.

4. Sometimes, you just have to distance yourself from people. If they care, they’ll notice. If they don’t, you know where you stand.

5. The only reason why people hold on to memories so tightly is because memories are the only things that don’t change when everyone else does.

Not a single one of us can go back and change the past. You can’t take back things you said, you can’t undo the things that you did and you’re not going to have a chance to turn back the clock and do things you wish you had. People hurt you and you hurt people, and nothing is going to change that.

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t still change the person you become. Every day you wake up you get to choose how to live your life. You get to write your own ending to your story, and it’s never too late or too early to make a change.

For that reason I believe in second chances. I believe in hope for the future. I believe in forgiveness. I believe that you still have the chance to be whoever you want to be. As cliche as this may all sound, I honestly think it’s true.

1. There are some things in life that don’t go the way you want them to or the way you think they should. But you can’t dwell on these because you’ll miss out on other opportunities. Don’t give up on something just because you don’t think things will work, you won’t know unless you give it a try. But don’t hold on to something that left a long time ago, because sooner or later, you’ll realize some things just aren’t meant to be.

2. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.

3. So I guess we are who we are for a lot of reasons. And maybe we’ll never know most of them. But even if we don’t have the power to choose where we come from, we can still choose where we go from there. We can still do things. And we can try to feel okay about them.

4. Life is all about risks, and it requires you to jump. Don’t be a person who has to look back and wonder what they would have or could have had. No one lives forever.

5. Sometimes, our lives can change so fast that the change outpaces our mind and hearts. It’s those times, I think, when our lives have altered but still long for the time before everything was altered-this is when we feel the greatest pain. I can tell you, though, from experience, you grow accustomed to it. You learn to live your new life, and you can’t imagine, or even really remember how things were before.

Først ut er Secrets of a Butterfly. NYT!
